Understanding The 4C's Of Diamonds
CUT - How Sparkly It Is
This is how well the diamond is shaped, not its shape (round, oval, princess, etc.), but how well the angles and proportions are cut. A well-cut diamond sparkles more because it reflects light better.
Grades: Excellent → Very Good → Good → Fair → Poor.
Tip: The cut matters most for beauty—you want that sparkle!
COLOR – How White It Looks
Diamonds come in shades, and the less color, the better (unless you're going for a fancy color). The most valuable ones are bright white.
CLARITY – How Clean It Is Inside
Almost all diamonds have tiny natural marks (called inclusions). The fewer and smaller
the marks, the clearer—and more valuable—the diamond.
CARAT – How Big It Is
This measures weight, not just size. A higher carat usually means a larger
diamond—but two diamonds of the same carat can look different depending on how
they’re cut
